Following WWI, in 1920, the French government created an award, Famille Francaise, for the mothers of multiple children. The children had to be at least 5 years old and have a strong sense of patriotism and duty. This award was the Silver one which was given to mothers of 8-9 children. The necklace is 17” long of hand wired labradorite gray iridescent stones. The necklace comes with the original ribbon with which it was awarded.
