1920 French Family Silver Award on Sterling and White Pearls


Following WWI, in 1920, the French government created an award, Famille Francaise, for the mothers of multiple children. The children had to be at least 5 years old and have a strong sense of patriotism and duty. This award was the Silver one which was given to mothers of 8-9 children. It hangs on 16” of oxidized sterling silver chain with white freshwater pearls. It also includes the original ribbon that came with it.
